BACKGROUND

The Hospital was started in 1908, by Scottish missionaries. Over the years, we have maintained links with churches in Scotland and United States of America (USA). These have grown into partnerships, which have certain set principles and guidelines. Phase one of the Guest House project, is as a result of one such partnership, between the hospital, South Highlands  Presbyterian Church (SHPC) and Glenkirk Presbyterian Church, U.S.A (GPC).

 

LOCATION

Located on 130 km from Nairobi, off the Karatina/Nyeri road on Tumutumu Hill. At an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level, one can see the beautiful Mount Kenya to the North, the Nyandarua range to the West, Nyeri hill and even the plains of Mweiga.
